Mainstreet Research polling suggests Freeland would just keep the Conservatives from achieving a majority government
When the Liberals started cratering in the polls and the end seemed nigh for Justin Trudeau as leader of the party, arguably the final nail in the coffin was the resignation of Chrystia Freeland as finance minister. It was no surprise then that Freeland quickly entered the Liberal leadership race, racking up a healthy share of MP endorsements from her fellow Liberals.
So the question remains; Where does Freeland stand today against Poilievre and his Conservative party? Can she pull ahead like Carney has in the hypothetical polling, or is she doomed to be sidelined as a leader of the official opposition?
