Western Canada Cools on Separation as Support for Unity Grows
New polling shows declining separatist sentiment in Alberta, while it plateaus in the central prairies
Tensions have been running high out west since the conclusion of the federal election, following the Liberal Party's election to a fourth consecutive term by the Canadian people.
Historically, separatist sentiments tend to rise in the West after the re-election of a Liberal government in Ottawa, and this election was no different.
However, those sentiments appear to be on the decline just over a month after the election concluded.
